g4 / Café & bubble tea, Berlin
The suburban labyrinth of Berlin is home to many beings.
There are things that swim in the shadows, things that play beneath the summer leaves and other yet stranger things that none have nor will ever notice. Not that any of us could even comprehend their nature, if we ever did.
Not quite as obscured but still quite hidden are two beings that have existed in this space since long before it harbored a city. The dragons of Berlin. They were twofold, sharing territory across eons of time, being anything from bitter enemies to lovers and in between. This fable concerns these two beings.
Kisa was a fiery dragon of passion, unbridled energy in a loose ruby furred coat.
Simba was as strong willed and sturdy as the flow of time. A dragon of tightly wound muscle in fur like the sea.
These two paragons of their domain had few things in common. Only one thing truly united them. A love for alchemically infused food. In this field they had both attained mastery and would frequently squabble over who made the most delectable treats.
Kisas speciality was the brewing of various teas with mild flavor and tangy zest alike. Simba on the other hand had specialized in the creation of chewy, slightly sweet tapioca candy. There are many things that could happen in this world but don’t. This, for the luck of us mere common folk, was not one of them. It was after a vicious fight between the two dragons that they decided to settle once and for all who made the better treats. But, as they found out with shock, they had not been careful enough in their altercation. Rage and wild passion had blinded them in their struggle. And in this state they had destroyed their work stations.
Great things often stem from accidents. And thus, as they tried to save what was left of their craft, they found that both of their favorite treats had been smashed from their arcane holdings and were now combined into one. It would take many years for the secrets of this new creation to seep through to the world of mortals, but when it did a storm took hold on humanity. This creation, made by the purest magic of two ancient dragons, combined into one, or at least humanity’s impression of it, became ever more popular until it had become available across the entire world. Some say that the dragon’s still prowl the world unseen, choosing their favorite places to imbue with their magic. But that is only speculation.
